Compensation Data

Journeyman Electrician Starting Pay:           $39.78/hour

LME Starting Pay:                                           $38.25/hour


Schedule: 24/7 facility will need to have availability to workdays, nights, weekends and holidays. Electricians/LMEs work a rotating shift, four 12-hour shifts then four days off switching between days and nights.

Job Description

Primary Duties: 

  • Lay out, assemble, install, repair, connect or test electrical fixtures, apparatuses, control equipment and wiring systems of alarm, communication, light, heat or power in buildings and equipment
  • Preventative maintenance of electrical equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical motors, pumps and HVAC power supplies
  • Lay out and install electrical appliances such as plugs, switches, and lights
  • Input and update information in computerized maintenance management software
  • Resolve maintenance issues or complaints
  • Ensure cleanliness of working areas at all times
  • Communicate with team, contractors and suppliers
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with company safety procedures and local building/electrical code
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, including machine maintenance logs
  • Connect, troubleshoot and work in PLC’s
  • Read, understand and draw necessary schematics
  • Install and set up A.C. drive units
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Oregon Electrical License or license from reciprocating state (General Journeyman/Plant Journeyman) or LME
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and electrical controls.
  • Knowledge of general safety procedures
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with motors and motor controls, electrical switchgear, 3 phase-480v service
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic controls


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of strong E&I experience and a strong preventive maintenance background in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety practices.
  • Experience with PLC’s; specifically, Rockwell Automation (Studio 5000)
  • Experience with Servo Motors
  • Familiarity with maintenance reporting in SAP, JD Edwards, and Ivara
