CASCADES TISSUE GROUP

The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accurately complete daily work order/production reports.
  • Must maintain clean work area and be able to perform other assigned duties in a timely manner.
  • Successfully maintain and repair various Converting/ Paper Mill and Industrial Equipment.
  • Maintaining Hydraulics, Lubrication, and Machinery systems and other Preventative Maintenance Systems.
  • Ability to do Welding, Machining, Lift Truck Repairs.
  • Pipefitting and general Millwrighting throughout the facility.

Comply with other requests from department manager or department supervisor

Qualifications

  • Must have strong mechanical and technical aptitude with an ability to understand converting equipment design concepts.
  • Forklift License Certification or ability to obtain with training
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; Able to read and write legibly
  • Able to work at a fast pace, stable under pressure and organized, while staying within safety rules and regulations
  • Must be in good standing with the company, with attendance and safety
  • Work well with others as part of the team and independently without supervision.
  • Must be willing and able to be cross-trained in other positions and operate various machinery and equipment
  • Must be willing and flexible with overtime for coverage even on short notice
  • Must be safety, quality, productivity and team-work oriented
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs in a stretching manner. Position involves a lot of physical work including lifting, bending, climbing steps, and standing for 12 hours depending on work schedule
  • Must have strong computer skills with an understanding of work order systems.
  • Must have demonstrated track record of ownership and interest in the success of your current assignment. This commitment to success should be demonstrated across all crews, not just on the assigned crew.
