 CASCADES TISSUE GROUP

 

The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will have the following main functions:

 

  • Work jointly with Production Supervisors managing Inbound workforce in alignment with the organization’s business strategy;
  • Support the units’ operational strategy for logistics/transportation including:
    • Ensure the coordination & consumption of the raw materials, including management of off-site storage;
    • Maintain inventory and accuracy level of raw material dictated by usage; weekly and monthly physical inventory;
    • Maintain contact with Corporate Fiber Buyer;
    • Complete the fiber quality follow-up and the supplier evaluation follow-up;
    • Work jointly with Production, Logistics and Accounting teams as needed;
    • Responsible for maintaining yield within corporate parameters; SAP super user training and responsibility;
    • Work closely with 3rd Party Logistics Providers to ensure compliance with appointments and documentation control, along with inbound yard management.
  • Be a leader in promoting an interdependent safety work culture and assist at implementing safety policies & procedures;
  • Manage and engage staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy including encouraging their team to suggest ideas for improvement;
  • Help employees reporting to them to develop their skills and make sure they receive the necessary training to carry out their responsibilities;
  • Help maintain a positive work environment by being present and fostering two-way communication;
  • Ensure compliance with logistics/transportation laws and standards in effect;
  • Foster business relationships between clients and business partners;
  • Any other duties assigned by the Logistics Manager.

Technical competencies

  • Computer literacy  desired
  • SAP knowledge is considered a strong asset

Desired experience

  • Bachelors degree in Logistis, tranportation, supply chain, etc. is preferred
  • Minimum 2  years management experience in logistics & transportation; 5+ years' experience is preferred.
