Job Responsibilities

  • Planning/scheduling transportation, warehousing, and stock control for inbound and outbound shipments of finished product and raw materials
  • Coordinating and optimizing shipping with internal and external customers
  • Revise operational process and procedures as needed and put Key Performance Indicators in place
  • Communicates between customer service, vendors, and team members to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Manage End of Month Inventory and cycle count procedures. Responsible for inventory accuracy
  • Manages warehouse staff
  • Monitor freight exception charges and continuously look for appropriate ways to decrease freight costs;
  • Review and improve safety behavior and redefine safety policy
  • Review and improve quality structure

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Logistics, etc.
  • Minimum 5 years role preferably in a logistics role in a manufacturing company

Technical competencies

  • Strong leadership and problem solving/analytical skills;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and very detail oriented
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, WMS, Word, SAP. AS400 a plus)
  • APICS certification a plus

Support the unit’s business strategy as a logistics/transportation specialist

Operational Excellence

Help draw up the budget and manage and control costs for logistics and transportation, if needed

Make sure that best practices, efficiency and quality are applied to logistics/transportation activities

Establish priorities and measures to take based on operational and budget performance indicators

Work with his/her team to coordinate and prioritize logistics/transportation activities, if needed

Support the unit’s/group’s operational strategy on logistics/transportation

Human Resources

Manage and engage his/her staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy

Participate in and implement the talent development and succession strategy for the people under his/her responsibility, in collaboration with Human Resources, if needed

Client Focused and Innovation

Encourage his/her team to suggest ideas for improvement

Develop his/her network in the business community

Apply the principles of excellence in line with our business partner-centric business vision

Keep abreast of best practices in his/her field

Health & Safety

Create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees in his unit

Help set OSH priorities for the unit in line with corporate objectives and help implement the action plan, if needed

Apply standards, laws and regulations in effect in regards to logistics and transportation
