Corrugated Packaging Structural Designer

Your Challenge!

 

Reporting to the Design Supervisor, the Designer’s mission is to take charge of layout, design and technical production activities aimed to achieve high quality design project. You can design product packaging to ensure product integrity and appeal under varying shipping and display conditions.

Job Responsibilities

Accountable

 

  • To design solutions that meet the customer’s needs while taking into account the manufacturing reality, respecting deadlines and budget, to the customer’s / user’s satisfaction
  • Gather required information and communicate expected costs/timeline to completion for each project to Marketing and Sales
  • Working directly with vendors and customers as required for display projects for stores
  • Design and shape Structural Display concepts using Artios CAD
  • Modify and create Specification Packages using Artios CAD
     


Responsible

 

  • Analyze and understand customer needs
  • Manage and document your activities and projects (new requests, matrices, specifications, samples, contract reviews, etc.)
  • Provide technical support and optimize designs
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and propose solutions
  • Verify quotes from internal and external suppliers as needed
  • Find innovative manufacturing processes, materials, and finishes
  • Collaborate in the testing and prototyping of these materials and processes as required

Experience and Strengths

  • DEC (college diploma) in Packgaging, Industrial Design Technology or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years experience in Packaging industries
  • Strong design skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Innovative mindset and high level of creativity
  • Ability to proactively address issues and problems by proposing solutions
  • Support and advise business partners in analyzing their needs and finding solutions
  • Agility to handle projects based on their scope, budget and timelines
  • Proficiency in technical design software
