The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

Job Description

Under the leadership of the maintenance supervisor, the electrotechnician will be in charge of providing operational support to optimize productivity.

The electrotechnician will answer calls from the floor and troubleshoot and repair the production equipment at the Vaudreuil plant, both mechanically and electrically.

You will join a current team of 3 electrotechnicians. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Preventive maintenance and repair of electrical components of industrial and building machinery ;
  • Carry out production diagnosis and troubleshooting (PLC, frequency inverter, etc.) ;
  • Make electrical connections for power, instruments and controls ;
  • Design and make modifications to the electrical system of the equipment ;
  • Apply and comply with health and safety regulations.

 

Qualifications
  • DEC in industrial electronics (asset) or other related field ;
  • Possess a "C" license, or obtain it within a reasonable time ;
  • Have between 5 and 10 years of experience as an electrotechnician ;
  • Ease of reading and interpreting electrical plans ;
  • Have experience in the installation of electrical components of 600 V or less ;
  • Master Allen-Bradley, Siemen and Omron programmable logic controllers (asset) ;
  • Have skills in fields related to their work: mechanics, welding, etc. (asset) ;
  • Ability to work alone or in a team ;
  • Focus on EHS ;
  • Ability to take initiatives and decisions.
