Sales Representative

Job Description!

The Fibers Purchaser’s position will be responsible for prospecting new accounts which will generate mid-market targeted recovered materials within a specific geographical area.  The role will also be responsible for managing and maintaining the actual business portfolio of the assigned market.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identifying and developing new business supply to meet the company’s internal and external demand needs.
  • Maintain and expend actual client volume/profit by making regular contact, based on a pre-determined and agreed schedule and required number of visits per year.
  • Expand services being provided to actual clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, developing contractual agreement and managing those already in place.
  • To establish and maintain a thorough understanding of the identified market area, including, but not limited to, existing accounts, account opportunities, competitors, tonnages, etc.
  • Establish and/or maintain knowledge of equipment and services to meet the changing needs of clients.
  • Effectively manage prospective suppliers by using sound marketing and sales plans, maintaining key information on prospects and their different maturity level in our sales cycle.
  • Maintaining, updating and communicating market intelligence data base on a predetermine format/system, on a constant basis, and confirming the accuracy of the data provided.   
  • Managing all tasks related to sales development and customer management which include but not limited to; proposal writing for new accounts, profit and loss analysis (P & L), customer’s call and proposal follow-up, contract management, internal activity reporting, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, etc.
  • Being customer focused, responding with a sense of urgency to all customer complaints, cancellations and inquiries and communicate relevant issues to senior management level in the organization (area Sales Manager, General Manager or Vice-President sales).
  • Prepare and provide each week a detailed weekly activity report (WAR) to the Sales Manager on the cold calls conducted, accounts retained, accounts gained and customer inquiries.
  • Maintaining an updated sales pyramid for short, mid and long-term prospects.
  • Promote Cascades as a circular company.

Experience and Skills

  • 2 to 3 years previous experience in a sales or marketing position is preferred. Experience in a related industry (manufacturing, transportation and food, etc.) would be a definite asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to make effective presentations. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Working knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license and have a clean driving record
  • Being people oriented and customer centric is essential
