Your challenge!

Job Responsibilities

  • Meet the manufacturing objectives in the unit’s business strategy.
  • Help meet operational efficiency goals including ISO audits.
  • Devise and implement standardized manufacturing practices and procedures related to quality.
  • Develop an action plan to maximize standardized manufacturing efficiency in and optimize resources.
  • Develop processes and tools to support and drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote sound occupational health and safety management.
  • Help set OHS priorities for his sector in line with corporate objectives and follow up on them.

Business Objectives Alignment

Contribute to the development of unit action plans as a quality assurance and continuous improvement specialist

Operational Excellence

Check that quality tests are carried out according to established standards

Help achieve the manufacturing objectives in his/her unit’s business strategy

Maximize synergy and foster collaboration among Cascades’ groups, units and business units

Make sure of new product compliance (if applicable)

Ensure the uniformity of quality systems in place and the consistent quality of finished products

Facilitate continuous improvement activities

Implement standardized best practices of quality management

Recommend solutions for improving manufacturing efficiency in his/her unit and support problem solving in it

Human Resources

Develop and provide training

Take the initiative to develop his or her skills

Health & Safety

Comply with safe work standards in effect

Help develop and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for all Cascades employees

Promote sound occupational health and safety management

Corporate Responsibility and Governance

Conduct him/herself ethically and uphold Cascades’ culture and values

Make sure projects comply with the standards, regulations and procedures in effect

Ensure the sustainable and responsible development of the units

Client Focused and Innovation

Apply the principles of excellence in line with our client-centric business vision

Keep a watch on new continuous improvement and quality practices and share them within the organization

Help his/her unit achieve its innovation objectives

Implement and maintain quality systems and external certifications required by the market

Follow up client complaints and make sure that corrective measures are in place and effective

Provide technical support to clients and develop business relationships (if applicable)

Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Desired experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience.
  • Dynamic, innovative, resourceful, sense of initiative, able to make decisions.
  • Production Oriented
  • Great verbal communication
  • Team player
  • Be able to perform audits and make corrective actions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  •   Knowledge of SAP, ISO, continuous improvement, and Microsoft applications is an asset.
