Your Role
As Sustainable Development Advisor, you’ll take on real challenges that bring out your full potential.
Your scope includes:
- Coordinating and maintaining recycling programs for national and local clients to improve quality and increase waste diversion.
- Conducting waste and recycling assessments to identify opportunities for greater material recovery and support business development activities.
- Supporting clients through site assessments, training sessions, quarterly reporting, and ongoing sustainability services.
- Planning and conducting waste audits and supporting the development and implementation of waste reduction action plans.
- Managing non-conformance issues and ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with operations teams.
- Preparing diversion reports and supporting Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and sustainability initiatives.
- Collaborating with Sales, Account Management, and Operations teams while monitoring recycling legislation, emerging sustainability trends, and contract compliance through material audits.
What you bring
You're a natural fit for Sustainable Development Advisor if you have:
- A college or university degree in environmental studies, sustainable development, or a related field is an asset.
- Experience in the recycling industry and Certified Waste Auditor certification are assets.
- Knowledge of sustainability certifications such as LEED, BOMA Best, and similar programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, and Copilot.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Access to a vehicle, willingness to travel approximately 10% to Ottawa, Ontario, and fluency in both English and French.
