CASCADES TISSUE GROUP

The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Job Responsibilities
Business Objectives Alignment
Help draw up the maintenance budget to meet the unit’s business objectives
Support his/her sector’s objectives as a maintenance/reliability manager
Operational Excellence
Ensure and/or facilitate the sector’s adherence to its annual maintenance budget
Follow best practices and ensure the efficiency and quality of the unit’s maintenance/reliability operations
Ensure operational excellence and eliminate issues by making recommendations to his/her manager
Work with Production to coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities
Support his/her unit’s operational strategy
Human Resources
Help employees reporting to him/her to develop their skills and make sure they receive the necessary training to carry out their responsibilities
Help maintain a positive work environment by walking the floor and fostering two-way communication
Manage and engage his/her staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy
Health & Safety
Develop and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for all Cascades employees
Help implement the OSH action plan
Promote sound occupational health and safety management
Personally commit to and display strong leadership in health and safety
Corporate Responsibility and Governance
Ensure compliance with laws, standards and regulations in effect for buildings and equipment
Encourage and promote ethical conduct and uphold Cascades’ culture and values
Client Focused and Innovation
Encourage staff to suggest ideas for improvement
