Senior Continuous Improvement Coordinator

Reporting to the Director of Operational Effectiveness, the Senior Continuous Improvement Coordinator's mission is to put his or her know-how to work in implementing corporate initiatives that lead to growth and organizational and operational changes. He or she collaborates on various projects by facilitating work sessions and meetings with key operational stakeholders and process owners to generate discussions on current practices and opportunities for improvement. In addition, he fosters buy-in for sustainable solutions in support of the company's business objectives and maintains Cascades' culture of continuous improvement.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

The Senior Continuous Improvement Coordinator will have the following main responsibilities:

 

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations;
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Lean manufacturing tools;
  • Accompany managers in the identification and analysis of operational and administrative issues related to business processes;
  • To translate and put into context the global stakes in order to propose solutions adapted to the different stakeholders of the company;
  • To ensure the liaison between all the stakeholders of the different projects;
  • Accompany managers in the deployment of continuous improvement projects;
  • To support and accompany teams in the deployment of projects;
  • Participate in the resolution of problems;
  • Facilitate meetings and communicate information to teams and the group;
  • Support the teams in the achievement of objectives;
  • Ensures the adhesion of the different strategic units;
  • Disseminate training in continuous improvement.

 
Your background and strengths:

 

The Senior Continuous Improvement Coordinator must have the following qualifications:

 

  • Hold an undergraduate university degree in an appropriate field of specialization, notably in engineering and administration;
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, including the implementation of Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing execution company;
  • Possess a Lean Six Sigma certification, a Lean Master certification or the equivalent (an asset);
  • Have implemented or participated in the implementation of a management system related to operational efficiency;
  • Experience in personnel management will be considered an asset;
  • Mastering process mapping methodologies;
  • Have a good knowledge of recognized process management and continuous improvement methods and problem solving tools;
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and synthesis skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously;
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize activities to meet organizational objectives;
  • Be bilingual, both orally and in writing (French / English);
  • Master the office suite and/or other project management software.
  • Demonstrate mobilizing leadership, rigor and autonomy;
  • Be client- and results-oriented and prioritize teamwork.

 
Additional information

 

  • This position requires travel to our various plants in Canada and the United States, depending on the improvement projects in progress;
  • Geographic positioning of the employee is flexible.
