Your challenge!

The Internal Sales Manager will be responsible for the supply requirements of secondary fibre and pulp for all Cascades mills in North America and third party mills under supply contracts. This involves working closely with all of our internal and external mills to oversee and control inventory levels, monitor incoming supply, forecast supply requirements and oversee the quality assessment program and the implementation of quality assessment tools.

Job Responsibilities

More precisely, the Inside Sales Manager will have to:


-Supervise and manage the plants' internal account managers, working closely with the customer service group, to ensure that plant demand requirements are met;
-Execute the requirements of the Service Level Agreement that is in place for each plant;
-Work closely with the Operations Planning group to ensure that demand requirements are met;
-Alert the planning group to situations where supply does not or will not meet demand;
-Monitor production at all Cascades plants to detect deviations that could impact demand, including closures, level changes and immediately inform the supply group and the planning group of any changes;
-Manage operating inventory levels at each plant to ensure that there are sufficient safety stocks to compensate for just-in-time delivery failures that may occur due to weather, market conditions, etc.; and
-Become familiar with any additional space that may be available at each mill that the MRM Group could use to store additional fiber and pulp if necessary ;
-Oversee the quality assessment program at all mills. Work closely with the mills to ensure that materials received at the mill meet quality requirements and specifications and that there is a standard receiving protocol at our mills ;
-Participate in activities associated with secondary fibre, i.e. grade substitution, performance improvement initiatives, month-end reporting, etc. as required by each mill ;
-Ensure that the information from the S&OP is accurate and confirmed by each mill before being processed by the planning group ;
-Regular visits to all plants to ensure that the plants are meeting the SLA and to review improvements to the SLA;
-Collaborate and communicate market information to all members of the Market Readiness Management Group ;
-Work closely with the Vice President to determine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track service level improvements in internal plants ;
-Create and contribute to a continuous improvement system.
 

Desired education and experience

Undergraduate degree in Business Administration;
Minimum of 5 to 10 years as a buyer / supplier of secondary fibre or production of related mills;
Good knowledge of the recycling industry, end markets and mill operations. 

Technical competencies

-Advanced knowledge of pulp and paper operations
-Knowledge of the secondary materials market ;
-Strong organizational skills and adaptability
-Have strong leadership skills
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude
-Bilingualism is essential
-Experience working in a collaborative and teamwork environment

Additional information

This position is responsible for a number of Cascades mills and requires regular trips to these mills.
