Your responsibilities


Reporting to the key account manager of Sales, the Major Account Manager will oversee the major account backlog and coordinate the efforts of the sales teams for optimal delivery by supporting his/her team in the development of customer value propositions and providing integrated solutions based on business opportunities, customer needs and market context to achieve sales objectives. In addition, this role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with as many key contacts/decision makers within the client organization as possible and strengthening a sustainable strategic partnership. The Major Account Manager maximizes sales growth by closely monitoring the development and performance of major accounts, providing input and guidance on operating plans and tactics. Finally, this role works closely with the Marketing function to develop in-depth industry knowledge (growth, trends, customers, competitive positioning) and to provide input into the calibration of major account rankings.

 

  • Establish pricing strategy
  • Validate quotes and pricing for major accounts based on margin ranges
  • Support customer acquisition and retention
  • Support the creation and negotiation of contracts for major accounts
  • Approve and monitor account plan objectives for major accounts according to established guidelines
  • Facilitate integration and ensure a consistent approach to customers across Cascades SBUs
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecast to the team
  • Establish and develop key relationships at all levels of the account organization (purchasing, category management, pricing, technical, accounting, quality control)
  • Talent - recruit/engage, coach and develop key resources to meet goals and establish succession plans/maintain and improve terms of employment to maximize engagement
  • Manages primarily Diamond and Gold clients                                                
  • This position requires travel between Canada and the US

As a Major Account Manager, you will be able to showcase your qualities and skills, including

 

  • A DEC or BAC in administration or other relevant training
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Master the office suite and C4C 
  • Be bilingual
  • Strong leadership, excellent communication and customer relationship skills and good judgment
  • A thorough understanding of Cascades products and services across the organization
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams to work collaboratively and effectively in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to approach an account from all angles
  • Ability to think strategically and correlate data to client/Cascade context
  • Ability to work with all levels of management, including the executive level
