Individual responsibilities

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the HR Advisor's mission is to contribute to the achievement of the unit's objectives by recruiting a competent and motivated workforce. You actively participate in your unit's management committee and collaborate with the centers of expertise and shared human resources services to optimize operational efficiency. You apply HR best practices within your unit, including succession management, workforce planning, compensation and training and skills development to meet business needs and objectives. Finally, you will train the super-users assigned to the various business processes and support the supervisors in managing their employees and applying the various HR processes. In this way, you contribute to the development of a committed, high-performing workforce aligned with Cascades' business strategy, values and culture.

  • Effectively plan for workforce needs, including succession, while respecting the capital and operating budgets.
  • Establish the necessary training plan for employee development.
  • Provide coaching to supervisors in setting goals and compensation, reviewing performance and developing a skills development plan for all employees.
  • Provide labor relations management and continuous improvement interventions.
  • Implement company policies and business processes.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers in managing employees and achieving business objectives.
  • Ensure the assignment of an SU for each process and certification.
  • Ensure SUs are trained and proficient in the processes.
  • Ensure the training of key positions for each business process.

As an HR Advisor, you will be able to showcase your qualities and skills, including

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources 
  • Be bilingual  
  • Master the Office suite and have the agility to work with different technological tools.
  • Experience in change management
  • Have operational skills and knowledge in various aspects of human resources: compensation and benefits management, health management, talent management, etc.
  • Have an understanding of Cascades' customers and partners and the role of your units.
  • Have knowledge of continuous improvement concepts and the ability to integrate them into your management.
  • Ability to accompany and advise business partners in the analysis of their needs and the search for solutions, and ease in interpersonal relations
  • Ability to analyze the performance indicators of your unit to establish priority actions in human resources.
  • Ability to build and support a customer-focused culture based on a human approach.
