The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

Your challenge!

Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, the HR Technician’s mission is to provide administrative support to the HR Team by carrying out a wide range of human resources activities in support of his or her unit’s business strategy and objectives. You are responsible for all operational and transactional human resources activities related to employee experience, including recruiting talent, welcoming and integrating new employees, workforce planning, job creation, compensation and benefits, training and skills development, as well as all data management related to these activities in the systems. You therefore act as a resource person for employees and managers. You answer their administrative questions about management and human resources best practices to ensure a skilled and engaged workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first responder to employee and manager questions (HR policies and procedures);
  • Be responsible for managing the employee data through Success Factors in collaboration with Shared Services Pay/HR;
  • Request access for new employees and closing access at departures (RAC/M);
  • Participate in welcoming new employees and in their integration;
  • Prepare job postings in collaboration with the HR Manager;
  • Write notices (e.g., appointments, departures) and other HR communications;
  • Prepare reports, employee lists and provide various analyzes to the HR team;
  • Track dashboards;
  • Support the HR Manager in various employee engagement initiatives;
  • Actively participate in committees such as the social committee, Centraide and organize local events as needed;
  • Do all other administrative tasks related to Human Resources.

Relevant Experience

Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar or related position.

Education

College Diploma (DEC) in Administration.

Experience in a payroll department.
