Clamp Truck Operator

Job Description

Reporting to the 3rd shift Production Supervisor, the Clamp Truck Operator is responsible for retrieval of large paper rolls and the safe delivery of rolls to the Corrugator machine. Other requirements include accurate scanning of raw materials, proper storage in Roll Room of partial rolls, and assisting with roll setup on Corrugator. This position is a full-time (50 hours per week) position on our third shift, regular hours of operation 9:00pm to 7:00am Monday to Friday. Must also be able to work mandatory overtime and weekends.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Operate electric powered clamp truck while following all safety procedures;
  • Move paper rolls from Roll Room to the Corrugator;
  • Ensure accurate inventory by scanning all movement of rolls;
  • Assist operators with installation of rolls in Corrugator;
  • Coordinate orders via detailed verbal and written communication with other plant employees, Supervisors and Managers;
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner;
  • Other tasks and duties as specified by Management.

Qualifications

Minimum three years experience in manufacturing environment with preference given to Corrugated/Packaging industry experience;

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety Rules and Regulations;
  • Ability to prioritize many tasks and execute results, which will promote customer satisfaction;
  • Ability to deal with conflict, stress and time constraints in an efficient, professional, courteous manner;
  • Must be able to work the 3rd shift Corrugator schedule of 9:00pm to 7:00am including mandatory overtime of either 7:00pm to 7:00am or 9:00pm to 9:00am;
  • Must be able to work on Saturdays when needed.
