Maintenance Planner

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory by 5S standard
  • Ensure all parts are properly catalogued and labelled
  • Ensure minimum shelf quantities and maintain MRP parameters (safety stock and maximum stock level)
  • Source out replacement parts, negotiate pricing and order using Ariba or SAP
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to verify part quantities on hand
  • Ensure that checked out parts are issued to associated maintenance work order
  • Other tasks as assignedCoordinate maintenance with external service provider in accordance to master preventative maintenance plan
  • Perform kitting and staging prior to scheduled preventative maintenance to facilitate maintenance team
  • Support maintenance team during reactive maintenance by providing correct parts
  • Enter data in CMMS
  • Create and modify PM tasks 
  • Generate workorders, follow up and close work orders in a timely fashion
  • Generate reports
  • Perform file management (hard/soft data)
  • Convert, upload and maintain updated OEM information to CMMS such as drawings and manuals
  • Submit IT requests to have spare parts created or modified as necessary

Education & Desired experience

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with some trade certificates. Three-year technology diploma in mechanical engineering an asset
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management 
  • Knowledge of CMMS, preferably SAP
  • Good communications skills (verbal and written). Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial experience as maintenance planner or coordinator or facilitator
  • Good understanding of 5S methodology
  • Comfortable working on your feet, with some exposure to humidity & dust
