Job Description

Starting pay:  $19.38/hour
 
Schedule: Rotating 12 hour shifts

 

  • Follow Cascades safety policies and participation as a top priority
  • Work as a team with other shippers to create a smoothly functioning shipping unit
  • Lift, stack and unstack articles and materials using electric & propane powered truck, equipped with different attachments
  • Ensure finished materials and raw materials are always processed and/or dispatched to correct areas of the plant with safety being of the utmost importance
  • Ensure goods are stored in the correct area of the warehouse so they may be located easily when picking orders
  • Load transport vehicles making sure loads are evenly and securely placed
  • Maintaining high standards of quality for finished products not allowing the customer to receive damaged goods through poor warehouse management or poor truck securing
  • Properly and completely fill out all paperwork for day to day tasks and shipments assigned
  • Ensure completion of all daily and weekly required tasks
  • Ensure all tasks are completed before leaving that may or may not include random bay counts, damage and tag bay clean-up, preloads, housekeeping, weekly forklift assignments, whiteboard assignments
  • Complete a minimum of one quality safety interaction, per rotation
  • Cross train as back up receiver/roll clamp operator
  • Participate in a minimum of one committee when hired
  • Report to your crew lead any issues, conflicts or needs
  • Follow all Cascades policies and procedures, including the Cascades Values
  • All other duties as assigned; work as directed

Qualifications

  • Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing envrionment strongly preferred
  • Adherence to all attendance requirements (must be dependable)
  • Maintain cooperation and respect with all coworkers
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a positive outlook
  • Ability to work with rigour and perseverance
  • Ability to read, understand & follow the production schedule
  • Ability to judge distance and follow all the designated traffic patterns and right of way
  • Proficiency with all computer programs used within the position
  • Self-initiative to stay on task and proactive during all tasks
  • Proficient cross department communications
  • Continuous improvement and excellent planning/organizational skills
  • Detail orientated and ability to perform all work duties accurately
  • Strict adherence to all rules and regulations that surround material handling processes
  • Must be able to walk/stand for majority of shift (10-12 hours)
  • Must be able to lift between 50-70 lbs
