Maintenance Lead

Your challenge!

Responsible for all outcomes associated with the maintenance of assigned area.   Ensures communication between operations and maintenance and correct prioritization for maintenance activities and manages defects / failures.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Operational excellence

  • Define standard processes and tools to handle defects and ensures that processes are executed properly
  • Follow up with operators to ensure that any defects were handled properly
  • Define / execute on standards for Breakdown Elimination and presents breakdown status weekly at team meetings
  • Monitor repair paths
  • Support operators in identifying and solving problems that caused breakdowns
  • Determine planned maintenance needs and prioritize / schedule the process for conducting planned maintenance

 

Communications

  • Share best practices with other Maintenance Leads
  • Ensure constant communication with the maintenance department to establish area priorities

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously improve established maintenance processes including Defect Handling and Breakdown Elimination

 

Talent

  • Train and coach operators to handle different aspects of maintenance as needed

 

Additional responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the other members of the team in the implementation and continuous improvement of their respective areas
  • Support the operators in solving problems
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance with Reliability Engineer

 

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or relevant field (preferred)
  • 3-5 years’ experience leading and coaching teams
  • Knowledge / expertise in maintenance processes
  • Demonstrates good analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to drive insights
  • Demonstrates ability to overcome ambiguous and complex situations
  • Brings strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience and understanding of Lean Production System principles
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well and communicate with others
