HR Technician

Your challenge!

 As the HR Technician for our Scappoose, OR facilty, you will manage a diverse workload in support of the HR needs of the plant and all of the employees. The successful candidate will partner with the Operations teams and other internal and external entities to best support and meet the goals and objectives of the business.  In this role, you will report directly to the Plant manager (with a dotted line to the HR Manager).

Job Responsibilities

Administrative

  • Responsible for answering phones and greeting guests at the front desk
  • In charge of ordering business supplies, business lunches and coordinating conference room setup
  • Provides administrative support to Plant Manager as needed
  • Maintains, organizes and oversees general office area

Human Resources

  • Handles day to day payroll maintenance and submits weekly payroll for processing
  • Processes employee changes and reimbursements via event action forms
  • Maintain all employee files including I-9’s
  • Leads recruiting efforts for all hourly positions including job postings, resume screening, phone interviews and final paperwork processing
  • In charge of new hire set up and employee on boarding/orientation
  • Coordinate employee recognition events such as holiday party, BBQ’s, monthly birthday celebrations, special events, etc.
  • Tracks employee training and record keeping
  • Acts as point of contact for employees and managers to respond to HR questions and concerns
  • Process disability and WC claims
  • Assists HR Manager with various tasks and projects as needed
  • Serves as back up to the HR Manger when needed
Desired experience
  • Associates degree in related field preferred or HR Certification
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an HR support role; manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong communications skills with an ability to get work done through others
  • Proficient Microsoft office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Use of UltiPro time and attendance strongly recommended
