Your challenge!


Reporting to the Plant Manager, the HR Manager is tasked with helping to achieve the unit’s objectives by recruiting a skilled, engaged workforce. You will actively participate in your unit’s Management Committee and clearly contribute to operational efficiency. Your efforts will be aimed at organizing your unit’s work to limit operating expenses. Finally, you will guide the managers and your colleagues and promote the company’s culture and values. Over the first few months, you will also start to take more responsiblity regarding overseaing the HR department and becoming more confident in your role. 

Job Responsibilities


  • Efficiently plan workforce requirements, including succession, in line with the investment and operating budgets.
  • Establish the necessary training plan for employee development.
  • Provide coaching to supervisors in establishing objectives and compensation, reviewing performance and building a skills development plan for all employees.
  • Oversee labor relations management and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Apply company policies and business processes.



  • Offer managers coaching and support in managing employees and achieving business objectives.
  • Make sure a subject matter expert is assigned for each process and certification.
  • Ensure subject matter experts are trained and master the processes.
  • Ensure the incumbents of key positions for each business process are trained.


Bachelor's degree in Human resources

  • Understanding of Cascades’ customers and partners and your units’ role.
  • Change management experience
  • Constant concern with improving performance and efficiency.
  • Ability to support and advise business partners in analyzing their needs and finding solutions.
  • Leadership and expertise in promoting buy-in to proposed solutions.
  • Ability to analyze your unit’s performance indicators in order to establish the priority actions for human resources.
  • Ability to build and support a customer-focused culture based on a people-centred approach.
  • Sound judgment to make appropriate decisions.
