The HR Manager will partner with leadership, union and employees to align and support the strategic business goals. This individual will have the opportunity to implement change and become a key partner of the leadership team. This role will also create a partnership with the union and management teams to help foster good employee relations and engagement.
Job Responsibilities:
Leadership skills and knowledge of Human Resource laws, practices, and labor contracts
Responsible for the plant engagement, Human Resource policies, procedures along with contract maintenance, a grievance handling and documentation.
Responsible and lead for coordination of grievances, arbitration preparation, contract preparation and organization of labor management meetings and communication to all parties.
Ability to lead and influence change.
Business Objectives Alignment
Contribute to the implementation of Human Resources operational strategies in support integration to Cascades systems and support the business
Development and coordination of performance, and succession planning for both facilities
Key member of the leadership team which will be able to partner with the team to align and support strategic business goals.
Desired Experience:
Seven plus years of direct management experience in Human Resources with supervisory responsibility
Seven plus years of direct negotiations and labor contract management where you were the primary resource on the bargaining and management of daily contract grievances, arbitrations and litigations
Human Resource manufacturing experience preferably in the paper industry or similar union environments
Proven track record of leadership, engagement and successful contract negotiations
Strong leadership and managerial competencies
Systems - HRIS, payroll, time and attendance
Technical Competencies:
Strong Computer skills in systems and Microsoft Office/SharePoint/teams, SAP, SKYPE
Ultipro, or similar time and attendance systems and current technology
Human Resource Certification SHRM, SPHR or PHR or other industry recognized certifications in the field desired
Knowledge of NSF and/or GMP or similar ISO standards
Ability to work closely with both leadership teams and help facilitate learning, engagement and positive union relationships
Coaching and negotiating skills
