PRODUCTION MANAGER

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager’s mission is to achieve the manufacturing objectives associated with the business unit’s strategy by optimizing available resources, rigorously applying business processes, and establishing an effective communication system.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of employees by supporting and leading a rigorous safety program that promotes a “Safety is #1” culture and environment. 
  • Develop and build a mobilized and competent team while supporting team development by providing the tools, resources and learning that promotes engagement and achievement of organizational and individual objectives. 
  • Lead and nurture a culture of continuous improvement that encourages critical thinking and teamwork.  
  • Drive the strategic plan by leading the ongoing implementation of lean manufacturing best practice utilizing experience with lean methodologies and tools. 
  • Evaluate and analyze production processes and cost to organize workflow that will meet specifications and deadlines without risk and within budget.
  • Communicate, lead and support the plan that will achieve targets in terms of production capacity, standardization of operating costs, quality, engagement and health and safety. 

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

 

  • Extensive supervisory experience in the manufacturing sector Leadership and a collaborative spirit that inspire and engage teams to achieve excellence.
  • Ability to deal with change and to propose favorable adaptation conditions
  • Ability to guide and coach team members.
  • Sound judgment to ensure follow-up and effective implementation of solutions in accordance with company priorities and to make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to carry out a number of projects simultaneously while respecting deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to manage ambiguous and complex situations.
  • Strong communication skills, tact, and diplomacy
  • Excellent ability to build and support a customer-focused culture based on a people-centered approach.
  • Agility needed to work with various technological tools.
  • Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology or related degree plus experience will be considered.
  • 5-7 Years of progressive leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge and implementation experience.
  • Paper Mill experience highly desirable.

 

TOTAL CASH COMPENSATION

Job Classification: Exempt.

**Salary Range: $92,000 - $139,000  **Salary is based on qualifications

Profit Sharing Target:  6.0% - 9.0%
