Product Packer Coordinator

SHIFT HOURS: (4 days on 4 days off. 12 hour shifts. Must be available for days and night shifts)


Your Challenge:


To keep production flowing smoothly from exiting the saw to being made into a finished package. Coordinate all packaging activity to ensure that a quality product is being produced.

• Follow all safety policies and procedures.

• Know all control functions and safety devices of wrapping, casing, and sealing equipment and assure all safety features are properly working.

• Assure that all poly and KD's are matched to the product being produced.

• Notify supply drivers when materials need to be brought or returned from the line.

• Assure that material is brought to the line and inspected ahead of changeovers.

• Keep the supply of KD's and poly to a minimum (max 3 bundles of KDs and 1 pallet of poly).

• Check eye mark distance, print quality and alignment and UPC on all rolls of poly before loading the wrapper.

• Conduct all quality checks assigned to you on your daily production sheet as specified. 


Job Responsibilities:


Accountable for the quality of the finished product.

• Assist maintenance personnel if needed anytime the wrapper, packer, sealer or winder is down for repairs or preventive maintenance. If not needed, keep packers busy in their assigned work area or assign them to another line.

• Check print quality and UPC of KDs bundles that are open on your shift.

• Check roll diameters, width of glue stream, quality of saw cuts, roll firmness, tail lengths, and bond strength.

• Notify supervisor if wrappers, packers and sealers are not running to the maximum operating capabilities for the product running.

• Properly maintain and clean machines and work areas.

• Must make all necessary operator adjustments on wrapper, packer and sealer equipment.

Qualifications and physical requirements:


• Must be mechanically inclined.

• Have the ability to start up and effectively run wrappers and saws on any production line.

• Have the ability to recognize quality defects and to train co-workers.

• Job requires frequent lifting,climbing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling.
