Your challenge!


Reporting to the Maintenance Manager - Operations, the Plant Engineer’s mission is to participate in the deployment of his or her unit's operational strategy by providing technical support for equipment and rigorously applying business processes. You therefore ensure that trials and continuous improvement projects run smoothly in order to limit their impact on the plant's activities. You also ensure that your unit's OHS objectives are met by supporting the supervisor in applying good maintenance and reliability practices and by maximizing equipment availability, quality and efficiency. Finally, by supporting the continuous improvement process in your unit, you contribute to the optimization of its operational efficiency and performance through significant improvements in manufacturing processes and product quality.

Individual responsibilities



  • Help to attain occupational health and safety targets and the quality of our finished products
  • Optimize our operations through continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure that the budgets allocated through the CAPEX approval process and, in particular, the monitoring of benefits are adhered to
  • Minimize the impact of projects and testing on the unit’s activities (customer impact)



  • Scrupulously apply business processes
  • Implement processes and tools to foster a culture of continuous improvement 
  • Provide technical assistance
  • Develop sound relationships with business partners
  • Support the launch of new equipment 
  • Actively participate in unit testing and in the implementation of investment projects
  • Ensure the availability, quality and efficiency of equipment by optimizing its maintainability (OEE)
  • Identify opportunities for improvement
  • Confirm and optimize maintenance routines
  • Analyze equipment and maintenance costs

Experiences and strengths


  • Ability to translate challenges into concrete solutions
  • Strong technical experience and a desire to learn and improve your technical and equipment-related skills
  • Collaborative spirit needed to work closely with all team members
  • Ability to carry out a lot of projects simultaneously while respecting deadlines and priorities
  • Leadership and expertise in promoting buy-in to proposed solutions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in the PMP project management approach (experience in project management)
  • Proficiency in using IT tools and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP (an asset)
