Your challenge!

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Logistics and Transport Assistant’s mission is to contribute to his or her unit's logistics plan by coordinating all shipping activities and ensuring rigorous monitoring of inventory data and delivery times. You prioritize customer satisfaction and do not hesitate to escalate issues when necessary in order to limit the possibility of delays or delivery errors. You participate in planning the finished products’ movement and in developing a cyclical counting process in order to optimize the unit's storage capacity. Finally, through the application of standard operating procedures, you contribute to the operational excellence of your plant's logistics process and maximize its ability to effectively meet customer demand within the required timeframe.

Individual responsibilities

High amount of interaction with incoming transport drivers as well as internal outbound drivers and logistics personnel.

Coordinate and plan shipping activities to ensure timely delivery.

This position will provide a positive internal and external customer experience by providing upbeat and accurate shipping administrative support in a fast paced environment.

Qualified candidates will learn or have experience in SAP, manage the daily data entry, filing and scanning, answer and make carrier calls.

Successful candidates will work with the Distribution Planner and Customer Service team to understand inventory levels and availability.  

Implement a cyclical count process based on business rules.  Ability to accurately document inventory counts is essential.  

Plan the daily movements of finished products in warehouses.

Monitor alignment between production and your inventories to be able to report any delivery delays to Customer Service and COE Logistics.

Experiences and strengths

2 to 5 years of experience

College diploma/degree in planning, supply chain or equivalent highly desirable

Computer skills including Microsoft Office and SAP

Good analytical and leadership skills, accountability, organization and problem solving ability

Good resource management skills

Breadth and depth of knowledge in planning and distribution operations, especially in scheduling activities

Ability to communicate effectively with team leadership as well as site partners regarding complex issues

Excellent proactive problem-solving and analytical skills
