Your challenge!

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the E&I TECHNICIAN-TECHNICAL PROFESSIONAL will perform electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities and projects.  Skilled in the fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, adjustment and repair of electronic, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic control circuits and systems.  These systems are used to record, indicate, and control the operation of various machines, including process measurement and control instrumentation.  

Individual responsibilities

  • Work safely in all areas, identify potential safety hazards and work with management to immediately communicate and correct hazards.
  • Install, maintain and repair industrial control systems and power distribution systems including electric motors, motor control devices, variable speed drives.
  • Receive wiring diagrams, drawings specifications and instructions, either verbally or in writing, concerning emergency and scheduled repair, installation, and inspection work to be performed.
  • Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
  • Responsible for identifying needed replacement parts.
  • Plan details of work procedures to determine material or replacement needs and determines a logical approach to repair problems.
  • Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuit modules, printed circuit boards, vacuum tubes, and similar electronic devices.
  • Perform plant-wide electronic and electrical maintenance, making operating adjustments as required.
  • Troubleshoot, program and repair Allen Bradley PLC controls and equipment.
  • Ability to design and construct adaptations of component parts or standard parts as required.
  • Maintain and install communication cables, power distribution cables and wiring; perform splicing as required.
  • Fabricate parts as required using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
  • Advise operators and line mechanics of standard operating procedures and requirements for working safely with electronic equipment and components.
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance and calibrations to all electrical, instrumentation and process equipment.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot motor control circuits.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Experiences and strengths

  • 3+ Years professional electrical or instrumentation experience preferred
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Must be willing to work overtime and be on call where necessary
  • Ongoing commitment to keep your knowledge up to date

Compensation Data

  • $70,000 - $85,000 Salaried Exempt Position 
  • Total Cash Compensation = Annual Salary + Profit Sharing Paid Out 2x Per Year
