CASCADES TISSUE GROUP

The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Your challenge!

To support the financial function at both the paper mill and converting plants. 

Job Responsibilities

  1. Support and assist with month end closing
  2. Back-up and learn both paper mill and converting to support controllers
  3. Provide data analysis and costing for the site controllers
  4. Support site personnel in understanding costs and process
  5. Help site achieve costing structures and compliance to KPI's

Business Objectives Alignment

Serve as an expert in the field and assist the manager in making business decisions and developing business strategies

Operational Excellence

Prepare statutory reports required under the laws and regulations in force

Prepare the analyses and information required to produce the unit’s, Group’s or Cascades’ financial statements and management reports and make recommendations

Serve as an expert in the field for the organization

Human Resources

Develop and provide training

Take the initiative to develop his or her skills

Health & Safety

Help create and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for all of his/hers service’s employees

Promote sound occupational health and safety management

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration

Desired experience

  • 3-5 years of financial support or analytical role in a financial department preferrably manufacturing
  • Expertise with G/L and accounting process - Generaly accepted practices
  • SOX compliance
  • Costing experience and analysis

Technical competencies

  • Microsoft office ; Share point and other technology platforms
  • Expertise in Excel and pivot tables
  • Strong analytical and costing experience in manufacturing
  • payroll G/L experience
  • SAP experience
