The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

Job Responsibilities
Business Objectives Alignment
Provide technical expertise to help develop and implement the business strategy for the units in line with the group’s vision and world-class best practices
Operational Excellence
Act as a technical resource person by making recommendations and suggestions for improvement
Analyze the needs of business partners and clearly identify project terms of reference
Develop good relationships with business partners
Develop project plans (mandate, deliverables, schedule, budget) while complying with existing standards
Assist with commissioning new equipment
Identify the human and material resources required for projects
Support investment projects and manage them as needed
Human Resources
Coordinate employees involved in carrying out projects
Assess and minimize the impact of projects on work flow
Make sure employees have the required skills
Facilitate change management for projects by listening and getting involved
Take the initiative to develop his or her skills
Health & Safety
Comply with safe work standards in effect
Promote sound occupational health and safety management
Corporate Responsibility and Governance
Conduct him/herself ethically and uphold Cascades’ culture and values
Make sure projects comply with the standards, regulations and procedures in effect
Ensure the sustainable and responsible development of the units
Client Focused and Innovation
Keep a watch on manufacturing best practices and new technologies and share them within the organization
Support Cascades’ innovation objectives to ensure the company’s long-term success
Support innovation and new product development to create added value for the client
