Cascades Containerboard Packaging, a division of Cascades Canada ULC, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in the United States and Canada. Cascades Containerboard Packaging is the largest containerboard producer in Canada and is also a major Canadian manufacturer of corrugated products.

 

CASCADES CONTAINERBOARD PACKAGING - PISCATAWAY

Cascades has announced on August 3, 2017 the major investment of $80 Millions USD for the construction of a new packaging plant in Piscataway, New Jersey. This new plant will create 120 jobs, will manufacture corrugated packaging products and will be among the most modern of its kind in North America. The plant will begin its operation in the second quarter of 2018 with a total annual capacity of 2.4 billion square feet of product. The Piscataway conversion plant will only have state-of-the-art technology.

Your challenge!

You will be the leader of a production team of  20-30 people. You will conciensly follow production metrics. You will communicate goals and will support your team member. You will coordinate and be involved with the continuous improvement of your department and demonstrate exemplary behaviour and coach your employees on safety programs. You will ensure good communication between department and between different shift.

Job Responsibilities

Business Objectives Alignment

Help develop and roll out an operational strategy in line with his sector’s business strategy

Operational Excellence

Effectively manage human and material resources to ensure sound financial performance and the achievement of manufacturing efficiency targets

Maximize production efficiency and optimize the resources under his responsibility

Maximize synergy and foster collaboration among Cascades’ groups, units and business units

Maximize the return on assets under his responsibility

Make sure operational efficiency targets are met

Ensure compliance with standardized manufacturing practices and procedures to deliver on the sector’s objectives

Support the sector’s continuous improvement initiatives

Human Resources

Build a team of competent and dedicated people whose skills complement one another

Ensure that the work flow and job structure are tailored to his sector’s needs

Manage and engage his staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy

Implement the talent development and succession strategy in his sector in collaboration with Human Resources

Health & Safety

Accept the full responsibility that comes with his position in line with Cascades’ OSH requirements

Help set OSH priorities for his sector in line with corporate objectives and follow up on them

Insist on and create a safe and healthy work environment for all employees in his sector

Promote sound occupational health and safety management

Personally commit to and display strong leadership in health and safety

Make sure governance rules are followed and responsibilities are carried out

Ensure the sustainable and responsible development of his sector

Insist on ethical conduct and uphold the values underlying Cascades’ corporate culture

Desired experience

You have worked and supervise in a Manufacturing environment for at least 5 years.

Technical competencies

Experience in the printing or paper industry is an asset.
