Transportation Supervisor

Your challenge!

This position is responsible for all aspects of the Transportation Division of Cascades Recovery+, in the Ottawa market and will report directly to the Regional Transportation Manager.  This will include but is not limited to overall road supervision of drivers, maintenance of entire fleet and customer related equipment, knowledge and implementation of regulations, and ensuring departmental profitability to the best of the incumbent’s ability.


Shift - 5am-2/3pm (must be flexible to stay later as needed)

Job Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with all Company policies and Ministry of Transportation safety procedures

- Responsible for ensuring that all drivers complete all associated paperwork accurately and are turned in on time as required by the division.

- Ensure that all drivers are lined up with designated vehicles, transport drivers to their trucks at repair shops if required, audit and ensure pre-trip inspections are being completed and will effectively resolve any start up issues that arise during shift start.

- Oversee the routing of all trucks in the Ottawa market, ensuring that all customer needs are being met in an effective and cost efficient manner.

- Work closely with Operations to ensure efficient flow of activity taking place on the receiving docks.

- Work closely with the Sales Team to assist them with potential new customer site assessments and effectively resolve existing or developing service issues.

- Will Promote safe work activities, both at the shop and on the road, by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings and meeting with individual staff members.

- Responsible for managing bi-weekly payroll for all drivers and manage all employee scheduling, start times and vacation planning.

- Prepare presentations for orientations and/or tailgate talks as per department requirements.

- Must have valid Driver's License

- DZ license preferred

- AZ license asset
