Reliability Engineer

Your challenge!

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this position coordinates with a three-person team dedicated to the runnability of a world-class paper machine.  This role is responsible for all outcomes associated with the maintenance of the Dry End area.


Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures execution of action plans from the shift handover meeting.
  • Aids in coordination of the daily maintenance schedule with Maintenance Team Leads.
  • Manages defect handling and equipment failures to generate action plans.
  • Reviews and modifies preventive maintenance plans in coordination with Reliability Engineer for his/her line.
  • Responsible for the preventive schedule for their asset, in coordination with the Maintenance Team Leads.
  • Review notifications for their area, ensuring there is a notification for each issue/defect.  Prepare for the planning meetings each week, advising which notifications are to be changed to work orders.  Provides priority to work orders for scheduling purposes.
  • Assist in planning process of work orders. 
  • Plays an active role in successful execution of shutdown jobs in his/her area.
  • Supports the other members of the asset's Line-Centric Leadership Team in the implementation and continuous improvement of their respective daily management system elements.
  • Manage lost production time process and data analysis.
  • Leads a weekly discussion dedicated to equipment breakdowns, providing analysis of current findings.
  • Participates in RCFA analyses and helps to define the actions to be taken.
  • Manages floor shutdowns in collaboration with the maintenance supervisor.
  • Plays an active role in the day to day execution and documentation of preventive and predictive maintenance jobs in his/her line.



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Other relevant fields
