Your challenge!

As a first phase (around 2-year mandate) at our Niagara Falls, NY strategic campus and reporting to the Greenpac Plant Manager you will be responsible for redeploying our logistic and warehousing regional strategy to better achieve our objectives as a customer centric driven organization. You will assess our actual model and lead any subsequent definition and designing of a new model.  Collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders, you will also lead any transition from the actual to the new model. You will be supported by a team of 70 employees who are responsible for executing the logistic plan and are expected to support the development of the team to have sustainable success and implement best practices.


When the above will be delivered, you will transition to our Group’s Supply Chain team reporting to the Director of Order Fulfillment. The Logistics Operations Manager's mission is to actively participate in the implementation of his or her group's operational strategy by ensuring that the various business units comply with the logistics execution business process and rules, as well as with logistics plans and delivery deadlines, and that they use hierarchical recourse in the event of problems. In collaboration with the plant's logistics and customer service department, you ensure that its logistics activities are consistent with customer requests. You define priorities for action through rigorous management and monitoring of performance indicators and costs associated with logistics and transportation. You also develop innovative improvement proposals and offer support to your business partners worthy of Cascades' business vision. As a result, you contribute to the operational excellence of the company's logistics and transportation process.
 

Individual responsibilities

The Logistics Manager will support the units’ operational strategy for logistics/transportation including management and accountability for: 
•    Acting as a key contributor to the establishment and implementation of the strategy and being the site reference for the corporate team.
•    Be fully invested, with the assistance of the project partners, in Logistics personnel management, in the recruitment, development and coaching to ensure a robust organization in the department’s logistics prepared to achieve the established goals.
•    The ramp up, stabilization and optimization of the management processes of the department.
•    The proper functioning of site logistics, including managing the department in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations.
•    The inventory accuracy and level of raw material dictated by usage; weekly and monthly physical inventory, budgeting and forecasting.
•    Maintaining and adhering to processes and standard operating procedures related to logistics and related regulations.
•    Excellent teamwork with Production and Accounting teams to ensure seamless operations, on-time delivery of finished product and accounting KPIs for product life cycle.
•    Skillful communication with the corporate Supply Chain Planning and Fulfillment COE, coordinating all efforts in a team-based environment.
•    Master the various logistics KPIs and act on discrepancies.
 

Experiences and strengths

•    Bachelor’s degree in related field.
•    Extensive experience in the field of logistics, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position, ideally in the manufacturing sector.
•    Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles.
•    Knowledge of various modes of transportation and shipping model (both inbound and outbound per day).
•    Good knowledge of legislation and regulations governing the transportation field, U.S. and Canada is an asset.
•    Demonstrated ability to manage direct and indirect reports and effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals.
•    Excellent overall adaptability and flexibility.
•    Intermediate knowledge of SAP.
