Logistics Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, you will have the following main functions:

  • Daily interaction and assistance with both outbound departments (Cascades and Greenpac) on a scheduled basis.
  • Frequently collaborating with both distribution centers (DC CCP and DC Greenpac).
  • Rigorously analyze information and performance indicators from various systems and documents.
  • Assist the PTs in resolving problems like IT, roll picking, and in day to day management of the outbound operation.
  • Provide training and assist in the management of Logistics Technicians to continue their development.
  • Work with both on-site and off-site Ryder Teams to maintain successful daily operations, within a 4 Party Logistics setting.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of reporting and outbound logistics data.
  • Ensure communication between the Outbound office and the working team, as well as team to team communication, is efficient and accurate.
  • Following through with and enhancing the day-to-day communication with the corporate, Sales Operation and Planning team.
  • Personally commit to and display strong leadership in health and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with logistics/transportation laws and standards in effect.
  • Encourage Outbound departments to suggest ideas for improvement.
  • Responsible to fill in for the Logistics Supervisor when directed to do so.
  • Ability to make vital decisions that are most beneficial to the department and mill.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Logistics Supervisor.
  • Oversee daily onsite rail plans and ensure that communication is being done with CSX
  • Make sure logistics team oversees dunnage operations and following up with contacts regarding this
  • Tracking inventory KPI’s for Greenpac/CCP and is responsible for sending out month end numbers to team
  • Understanding the detention and demurrage process’s that directly correlate with Ryder requests.
  • Attending meetings jointly with department supervisor and or as directed

Desired experience

  • Knowledge of the SAP operating system.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Must be proficient in Excel and data manipulation/program environment;
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills;
  • Positive and respective attitude, availability, rigor and capacity to work under pressure.
  • Ability to make pertinent decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Highly flexible with the ability to adjust to the demands of the job, producing high volume of high-quality work.  Must be flexible in scheduling.


  • Bachelor's degree
