The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

We’re looking for candidates who are interested in taking their automation skills to the next level. The ideal candidate’s experience in maintenance processes and preventative maintenance will help to ensure the continuous implementation of world class maintenance practices at Greenpac. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the production line’s troubleshooting in Siemens PCS7/Step 7 and Profibus. 
  • Perform as the key contact for production line availability and keeps updated on the appropriate SAP system statuses and production reports.
  • Observes the machine on the field.  In the event of a malfunction or abnormality in the machine, the engineer will perform corrective actions or creates notifications/work orders for shut down planning. 
  • Meets regularly with operators to collect comments or observations and works closely in cooperation with the production coordinators to ensure production and machine availability.
  • Performs configuration changes in cooperation with production and reports what has been done. 
  • Responsible for his or her area’s needed spare parts purchase requests.

Required Education and Experience

To be successful in in Greenpac's Mill Maintenance team, the candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, automation or related field, and 2-5 years of experience in an industrial production environment.

Desired experience

Experience with Siemens PCS7/Step 7 is strongly preferred.
