Cascades Flexible Packaging (CFP) is located in Mississauga, Ontario. The plant operates on a 24/7 basis with a mix of continental rotating shift work. CFP operates single and multi-layer blown film extruders, as well as, two world-class wide web flexo presses that manufacture printed film for a diverse range of end consumer applications.  With a focus on sustainability and green initiatives, the plant continuously cultivates its safety program and strives for employee-driven improvements.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

We are currently looking for Material Handlers and a Shipper/Receiver to become part of our warehouse team working in the Logistics department.  We need people who care about the work they do, with a positive attitude, good attendance, quality-focused with strong attention to details.

 

Material Handlers

 

  • Loading and unloading inventory in a safe manner into racks and trailers using lift trucks
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurately packed/wrapped according to customer specifications and free of damage
  • Assists with inventory cycle counts, occasionally transports materials between two warehouses
  • Works with incoming/outgoing shifts to pass on pertinent information to the current team
  • Follow established safety protocols , wear all PPE and report health & safety hazards
  • Maintain clean and safe condition of equipment and surrounding work area
  • Support department with additional duties assigned by the supervisor

 

 

Shipper/Receiver

 

  • Material Handler duties plus you will supervise material handlers, ensure safe operations of forklifts, provide training and evaluations on safety procedures
  • Coordinates with the planning department on shipment and production schedules and achieve established production goals
  • Organizes distribution and shipping of merchandise by verifying the quality and quantity of items against supporting documents
  • Interacts with transport drivers, transportation brokers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries, problem solve or troubleshoot deficiencies in shipments
  • Oversee inventory cycle counts, maintains inventory storage area, and occasionally participates in local area deliveries or pickups
  • Maintain an organized department according to specified materials locations and keeps equipment in safe operating condition by performing required inspections and maintenance
  • You must have 2+ years supervisory experience, Microsoft Office & SAP knowledge required

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified forklift operator with knowledge of pallet jacks, double reach truck & counterbalance
  • Experience operating in narrow aisle warehouse, valid G driver’s license
  • Basic reading, math and computer skills for data entry
  • Available to work 12-hour monthly rotating shifts and some weekends
