Cascades Flexible Packaging (CFP) is located in Mississauga, Ontario. The plant operates on a 24/7 basis with a mix of continental rotating shift work. CFP operates single and multi-layer blown film extruders, as well as, two world-class wide web flexo presses that manufacture printed film for a diverse range of end consumer applications. The plant continuously cultivates its safety program and strives for employee-driven improvements.

Job Responsibilities


Reporting to the Cascades Flexible Packaging Plant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the flexographic press operations of the plant. This position is a full-time salaried opportunity based out of Mississauga, ON.


• Support the Plant Manager in fulfilling the mandates of the press operations to meet overall business objectives
• Collaborate with customers, business partners, suppliers and stakeholders to provide innovative solutions aimed at creating added value
• Supervise a team of 15 - 20 Press Operators; establish a learning and development plan, provide training to new operators
• Document press operations procedures, standards and product specifications; implement quality controls and monitor press performance parameters
• Recommend and expedite system solutions, troubleshooting and modifications to existing equipment to improve and optimize press operations
• Optimize production planning, manage work interruptions, implement systems and work methods to consistently meet deadlines, cost and quality initiatives
• Take initiative to focus on continuous improvement for personal development regarding updates on industry standards
• Promote and be responsible for applying sound occupational health and safety management and ensure compliance with Cascades safety standards
• Provide resources and technological expertise to extrusion and conversion units within the plant
• Ensure compliance to external regulatory programs, and to local corporate governing standards such as SQF, IFS PAC Secure and One Certification
• Any other duties requested by your supervisor


Additional responsibilities

Desired experience


• Relevant technical degree from a recognized college or equivalent experience
• 5+ years' operations management experience, press department experience an asset
• Effective interpersonal skills for building relationships with team members at all levels
• Demonstrated organization skills and proven attention to detail/accuracy
• Positive, reliable and hard-working attitude
• Experience or knowledge of the flexible packaging industry would be an asset
• Able to work independently with minimal guidance
