Cascades Flexible Packaging (CFP) is located in Mississauga, Ontario. The plant operates on a 24/7 basis with a mix of continental rotating shift work. CFP operates single and multi-layer blown film extruders, as well as, two world-class wide web flexo presses that manufacture printed film for a diverse range of end consumer applications. The plant continuously cultivates its safety program and strives for employee-driven improvements.


Job Description

Cascades Specialty Products Group is currently looking for a hard-working and motivated Material Handler to join the warehouse team based out of our Mississauga, ON location.

  • The wage rate for a Material Handler position is between $18- $20 per hour depending on the experience and skill level of the candidate
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must be able to work 12-hour continental shift monthly rotation between days and nights
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must have experience operating a double reach forklift in tight spaces

Job Responsibilities


Material Handler is responsible for the following:

• Organizes distribution/shipping of merchandise by verifying the quality & quantity of items against supporting documents
• Maintain production standards, achieve established production goals by complying with company policies & government safety regulations
• Coordinates with the planning department on shipment and production schedules
• Assure inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report variances & write-off/dispose of unacceptable inventory
• Analyze supply and demand activities and reports to the management team
• Organize materials in shipping area and plant according to specified material locations
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized department keeping forklifts in safe operating condition by performing required inspections & maintenance
• Safely handles and disposes of hazardous materials by using PPE
• Participates in inventory cycle counts, maintains inventory storage area, organizes stock room shelving and area
• Interacts with external vendors, customs agents/brokers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries, problem solve or troubleshoot deficiencies in shipments
• Works with incoming/outgoing shifts to pass on pertinent information to the current team
• Focuses on health and safety, reports hazards and/or near miss incidents and participates in accident investigations
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by supervisor




• 3+ years material handler experience in shipping/receiving with advanced knowledge of SAP
• Experience with Narrow Aisle Reach Truck is a must - double reach truck
• Valid G drivers license is required
• Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet
