CASCADES TISSUE GROUP

The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Your challenge!

As the Reliability Engineer for our Memphis mill, you will have a diverse work load in support of the manufacturing needs of the entire plant. The successful candidate will partner with Production Supervisors in their respective areas to determine the best method to ensure continuous operation of all assets. The individual will collaborate with both production and maintenance teams as well as plant leadership to provide guidance and demonstrate the capabilities of our most important assets to ensure synergy across the mill.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assure optimum equipment reliability and availability through the evaluation, development, and application of sound maintenance and production procedures
  • Responsible for life cycle asset management (LCAM)
  • Establish and maintains strong working relationship with both the Production and Maintenance teams
  • Provides risk management plans
  • Develops engineering solutions to avoid repetitive failures that impact the plant
  • Utilizes all data; statistical process control, reliability modeling and prediction, fault tree analysis
  • Uses Six Sigma methodology
  • Works with suppliers for design and installation of equipment

Education and Experience (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • At least 3 years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record working in an engineering and reliability field, preferably in a paper mill
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification or lean manufacturing exposure

Skills

  • Strong statistical process control background
  • Strong leadership with teams/groups and project management
  • Proven track record of solid engineering projects and success rate with projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and changing deadlines and competing objectives
  • Strong commitment to supporting a safety conscious work environment
  • Self-motivated and time management skills
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, SAP, MES, AS400)
  • Ability to work with extended hours as necessary to complete work assignments
