CASCADES TISSUE GROUP

The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Your challenge!

To coordinate orders and customer needs with business capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with corporate planner for scheduling of customer orders
  • Order raw materials, cores, waste paper etc
  • Manage inventory process for supplies to ensure adequate supplies meet order and customer needs
  • SAP expertise
  • Converting of production orders to meet site capabilities
  • Resequence of corporate planning to meet plant effeciency and satisfy customer needs and delievery dates

Business Objectives Alignment

Help develop the strategic plan for his unit and support its implementation in keeping with Cascades’ plan, as a planning expert

Operational Excellence

Make sure everything needed for production (raw materials, machine time, etc.) is available

Make sure production data (inventories, MRP, quantity produced, MOR, etc.) is complete and communicate disparities to the individuals concerned

Optimize the production sequences (short term) in order to deliver the production master plan

Ensure liaison between corporate planning, customer service and shipping in the event of differences with the production master plan

Take part in operational decisions (materials, staff turnover, etc.)

Take the initiative to develop his or her skills

Make health and safety priorities in his actions and recommendations

Desired experience

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience with planning and schedules
  • Previous customer service background and experience with both internal and external customers
  • Strong problem solving skills and expertise in utilization of planning board and communication of changes to all impacted parties
  • Expertise with computer systems and planning software, ie. SAP, QAD, or MES systems

Technical competencies

  • Strong computer background and technical understanding of systems and integration of systems
  • SAP expertise and prefernce for manufacturing in Tissue industry
  • Microsoft packages and similar software as well as Share Point and othe platforms
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills
