Additional job details:

  • Address: Cascades – Recovery+ Burnaby 
  • Schedule: 8am-4pm 
  • Monday to friday - 40/week
  • Some travel will be involved as we are moving offices from Surrey to Burnaby 
  • Pay: $24/hr 
  • Internship for the summer Months: June, July, August 2026

Being an intern or student at Cascades is a unique opportunity to define your interests and discover your passion as our new Human Resources Intern:

  • Support the HR Manager with administrative tasks related to hiring, onboarding, employee data changes, payroll information, and employee file management.
  • Assist with recruiting initiatives, including job descriptions, marketing strategies, career fairs, and onboarding activities.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including scanning and filing documents electronically while ensuring compliance and accuracy of driver and employee files.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives through event planning, appreciation activities, community events, and collaboration with internal committees.
  • Assist with internal communications and rollout of tools and updates for hourly employees, including bulletin boards, TVs, and the MyPlant Space tool.
  • Draft, edit, and format various documents such as appointment notices, presentations, memos, handbook updates, and performance management materials.
  • Support performance management processes, including evaluations and internal promotion procedures.
  • Assist the HR and Operations teams in setting up, organizing, and implementing innovative processes and initiatives for the new facility.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of HR functions (recruitment, onboarding, employee relations)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Interest in or exposure to recruitment tools or HR systems (ATS is a plus)
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
