Job Description

 

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

1. Maintain all plant equipment and all off site equipment when required

 

 

2. Modify and fabricate equipment to fit new production requirements or solve production issues.

 

 

3. Ensure that all Safety Guidelines are followed.

 

 

4. Assist contractors with major repairs or overhauls and with new equipment installations as required by Supervisor.

 

 

5. Assist other Maintenance staff when requested to maintain and repair of all Cascades Recovery+ equipment.

 

 

6. Work with Transportation department to repair and fabricate as required.

 

 

7. Perform cutting, grinding, fabricating and welding as required.

 

 

8. Operate mobile equipment as required in the performance of job duties.

 

 

9. Ensure that the fabrication and maintenance shop is kept in a clean and organized condition with focus on safety.

 

 

10. Responsible for returning all tools to the shop after use.

 

 

11. Travel to other Plant locations as required.

 

 

12. When required by Plant Maintenance team assist in plant equipment trouble shooting and repair.

 

 

13. Other duties as required.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

Education:

 

 

433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License

 

Journeyman certification and/or equivalent training and experience.

 

 

Experience:

 

Three – five years maintenance and fabrication experience in a manufacturing or related industry. Previous experience with equipment used in the recycling industry and with related mobile equipment would be a definite asset.

 

Welding experience is an asset.

 

 

Skills:

 

 

Must be able to work well in an unsupervised environment and as part of a project team.

 

Proven troubleshooting ability with emphasis on safety and reliability.

 

Must be well organized.

 

Good communications and interpersonal skills.

 

Ability to perform machining would be an asset.

 

Must be aware of all safety standards and requirements for maintenance work.

 

Must be able to effectively work with others in a respectful manner

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

 

Plant environment – exposure to dust, wet/rain, hot and cold temperatures, noise, etc.

 

 

Monday – Friday,

 

 

Might be required to work some evenings, and weekends as required

 

 

 

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

 

Schedule:

 

10 hour shift

Etobicoke, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

 

 

Experience:

 

millwright mechanic: 3 years (preferred)

 

 

Licence/Certification:

 

433A License (required)
