The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Your Challenge


As the Production Supervisor/Asset Owner, you will have a diverse workload in support of the manufacturing needs of the plant. The successful candidate will collaborate with other departments to assess the plants processes and use their critical thinking skills to trouble-shoot any issues that arise. You will have an opportunity to expand your knowledge as each day varies and be able to contribute to the plant’s growth and success.


 Job Responsibilities


  • Manage and engage staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy
  • Effectively manage human and material resources to ensure sound financial performance and achievement of manufacturing efficiency targets
  • Drive change initiative and implement process improvements as part of a multi-functional team
  • Lead safety efforts for employees by identifying high-risk situations, conducting safety meetings and coordinating worker safety activities
  • Optimize efficiencies and drive efforts to reduce waste and downtime and increase production availability
  • Provide the necessary training for a diverse workforce and have a working knowledge of best practices for training and development
  • Hold team accountable to deliverables and work expectations
  • Manages production output and maintenance needs. Ability to collaborate with munti functionally
  • Product development - Maintain product quality withing specifications
  • React quickly, develop plans to resolve onoing issues


 Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or relevant field (preferred)
  • Associates degree and/or 1-3 years equivalent supervisory experience in a manufacuring environment. Pulp & paper converting experience is preferred.
  • Strong people management skills are a must
  • Must be proficient at mentoring and coaching employees for success.
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Results-oriented and the ability to motivate a team to perform at high levels.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and process improvement.
  • Ability to make good decisions with an innovative approach.
  • Ability to acquire applicable converting/technical/machine knowledge.
  • Ability to train and transfer knowledge effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and SAP.
