The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Your challenge!

Ability to coordinate multiple financial statements as well as analyze them for the mills under your responsibility.

Supportive role that assists the sites in understanding the financial packages and responsibilities related to the finances.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate the preparation and publication of financial statements as well as conduct the analysis for the mills of responsibility

Participate in the reengineering of the business processes in his/her region

Assure the reliability and completeness of the financial information produced and propose improvements to the current financial processes

Support management in understanding, presenting and analyzing finacial information

Apply the budget process and maximize its use in decision-making

Assist the Vice President, Administration and Finance in certain fianacial projects

Business Objectives Alignment

Help develop the Group’s strategic plan with the sector’s input

Serve as a finance and administration specialist to help implement the sector’s strategic plan

Operational Excellence

Help develop and implement financial, sales, administrative and accounting management best practices in keeping with Cascades’ strategic directions

Help the unit’s and sector’s management teams improve business processess (including analyses and the communication of internal and external financial information)

Support controllers or regional controllers in their capacity as finance and administration specialists

Plan and lead the reengineering of the Group’s business processes in the sector

Human Resources

Develop and provide training

Make sure that the financial structure and organization are tailored to the sector’s needs

Manage and engage employees based on Cascades’ values and business strategy

Support and ensure the implementation of the talent development and succession strategy, in cooperation with Human Resources

Health & Safety

Develop and maintain a healthy and safe work environment for all of his/hers service employees

Promote sound occupational health and safety management

Corporate Responsibility and Governance

Maintain an effective control structure to minimize business risks related to operations and fraud

Foster and promote Cascades’ ethical behaviors, culture and values

Guarantee the financial information produced is reliable and complete

Develop his business network

Help develop financial systems

Help reengineer the Group’s business processes in the sector

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration

Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration

Desired experience

Certification such as a CPA or other accounting designation

Minimumof 10 years of experience in a managerial position in the accounting/finance area preferably in manufacturing environments

Strong knowledgeof business and standard business practicess

Well organized, attention to detail,autonomous and be able to perform under pressure while respecting deadlines and obligations

Ability to coach and be coached

Impact and influcence skills in leadership style

Leadership skills that encourage employee engament and involvement

Highly desired bilingual, both orally and in writing - Canadian/French

Technical competencies

Strong computer skills and expertise in Microsoft applications

Strong Excel experience

SAP knowledge and experience or similar MES systems

Ability to analyze and compile data in many formats

Ability to trouble shoot and understand  financial statements - ability to get to root causes for discrepencies and be able to explain and communicate such

SOX and auditing knowldege and compliance to generally accepted business practices
