Automation Specialist (Operations Support)

Job Responsibilities

-To be the technical reference and to ensure according to the needs of the customer;

-Ensure an effective project definition based on the client's needs;
-Establish the detailed specifications required by the project;
-Ensure that the work is carried out by the project team as prescribed in advance;
-Manage commissioning in collaboration with the project team;
-Provide support to plants in order to constantly maximize equipment operational efficiencies;
-Define tools and standards to ensure knowledge transfer to plants;
-Ensure the follow-up of the recommendations made and adequately document them;
-Be on the lookout for best practices and new technologies in the field of conversion;
-Develop the electrical or software solution as required;
-Program various programmable controllers, Human Machine Interface, Drives and other equipment (Allen Bradley, Siemens, G&L);
-Develop electrical plans according to standards;
-Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure the progress of the various projects, whether on the supplier or factory side.

Desired experience

-Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or automated production

-Between 3 and 5 years of relevant experience;

-The candidate has to be a member of OIQ
-Frequent travel is expected in our units in Canada and the United States (50% of the time)
