 CASCADES TISSUE GROUP

The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Your challenge!

Under the supervision of the technical director, you will support the efforts of the factories for which you will be responsible so that they meet their objectives in terms of quality (monthly monitoring of indicators and action plan). You will support these factories in the preparation and execution of customer audits and compliance audits such as NSF and BRC as well as in internal audits. You will be in charge of establishing the specifications of the products so that they are related to the needs of the customer, the capabilities of conversion lines and those of paper machines. You will collaborate with the logistics, marketing and production teams during the development of the new products: preparatory phase, tests, qualification of the products. Continuous improvement will be at the heart of all your activities: at all times you must aim to improve the products and processes of the factories you will be responsible for.
 

Job Responsibilities

Manage the technical development of new products;
Participate in the development of quality tests for new products and equipment;
Support continuous improvement by providing technical expertise;
Perform other specific assignments within the technical team.

Act as a technical reference with recommendations and ideas for improvement
Analyze the need of the business partner and clearly identify project mandates
Develop good relationships with business partners
Develop project plans (terms of reference, deliverables, schedule, budget) while respecting the standards in place
Support the start of new equipment
Identify the human and material resources required to carry out the projects
Support and manage (where applicable) investment projects
Support, as a technical expert, the development and implementation of the units' business strategy by aligning with the group's vision and world-class practices

Ensure the development of the units in a sustainable and respectful way

5 years in a technical position
Experience in converting or making tissue paper an asset
Knowledge of tissue paper converting processes;
Knowledge of the manufacture of tissue paper;
Knowledge in statistical analysis;
Knowledge in lean manufaturing an asset;
English and French 

 


Education

Bachelor of Engineering in Chemistry or Relevant Experience

Additional information

The workplace will be at Candiac;
Frequent trips, up to 50%, in Canada and the United States.
