Job Description

Cascades Moulded Pulp-Indiana seeks a hard-working, reliable, diligent molder operator for our production process. This is a high-energy position requiring attention to detail with an emphasis on timely completion of assigned work activities throughout the day. Our molder operator tends the molding machines which suctions pulp (reduced recycled paper) to the dies to create our products. Applicants need to have a proven track record of reliability, quality work and outstanding attendance history.  Applicant must be able to work any shift including weekends. This is an hourly nonexempt position.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Crew Supervisor, the applicant will weigh product and communicate with supervisor and pulper operator to adjust pulp flow or dryers. Also, they will inspect the product for defects or any irregularities.

  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, environmental compliance, and follow all PPE and food regulation requirements and standards.
  • Be comfortable around heavy machinery in harsh conditions such as wet, hot, and cold.
  • Observe charts and gauges, and turn valves to adjust flow, vacuum, and air control to molds.
  • Operate drying sections to adjust heat to combat over or under drying.
  • Change mold dies by hand using hand tools.
  • Operate and control dyes and chemicals to obtain specified product uniformity.
  • Clean machines and conduct routine operator maintenance.
  • Learn entire process that includes pumps, valves, motors, vacuum, air pressure, speeds, flow, temperature, etc.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Shift / hours flexibility unless otherwise agreed upon.
    • Currently 7:00 am – 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
    • Two-week work day rotation: 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off
  • Work holidays (other than Christmas) if shift assigned
    • Entire holiday work day is at the overtime rate
  • Able to do lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs) during the shift
  • Must be able to stand, lift, twist, bend, climb, etc.
