Job Responsibilities

Business Objectives Alignment

Help develop and implement an operational strategy that is aligned with his/her unit’s business strategy
Meet the manufacturing objectives in the unit’s business strategy

Operational Excellence

Develop an action plan to maximize standardized manufacturing efficiency in his/her sector and optimize resources
Develop good relationships with business partners
Develop processes and tools to support and drive continuous improvement in his/her sector
Devise and implement standardized manufacturing practices and procedures related to his/her department’s objectives
Ensure sound management of operating costs and maximize the return on assets under his/her responsibility
Maximize synergy and foster collaboration among Cascades’ groups, units and business units
Help meet operational efficiency goals

Human Resources

Design and implement a talent development and succession strategy for his/her department, in collaboration with Human Resources
Build a team of competent and dedicated people whose skills complement one another
Ensure that the work flow and job structure are tailored to his/her sector’s needs
Manage and engage his/her staff based on Cascades’ values and business strategy

Health & Safety

Accept the full responsibility that comes with his/her position in line with Cascades’ OSH requirements
Help set OSH priorities for his/her sector in line with corporate objectives and follow up on them
Insist on and create a safe and healthy work environment for all employees in his/her sector
Promote sound occupational health and safety management
Personally commit to and display strong leadership in health and safety

Corporate Responsibility and Governance

Make sure governance rules are followed and responsibilities are carried out
Ensure the sustainable and responsible development of the unit
Insist on ethical conduct and uphold the values underlying Cascades’ corporate culture

Client Focused and Innovation

Ensure support for business relationships and provide technical support when requested by clients
Keep abreast of manufacturing best practices and new technologies and share them within the organization
Support the sector’s innovation objectives
