Your challenge!

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager’s mission is to achieve the manufacturing objectives associated with his or her unit's business strategy by optimizing available resources, rigorously applying business processes and establishing an effective communication system. You therefore participate in the implementation of processes, practices and tools specific to your unit aimed at optimizing operational efficiency. You also build a mobilized and competent team and support their production efforts while nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and health and safety. As a result, you contribute to the achievement of your unit's strategic plan by positively influencing the adoption of healthy and safe environment, operating costs, performance and production capacity and quality.


Individual responsibilities


Ensure the safety of its employees and a safe environment free of all risks

Ensure optimal execution of operations by achieving targets in terms of occupational health and safety, production capacity, standardization of operating costs and quality

Establish and apply standard production practices and procedures to achieve your unit’s objectives

Engage and develop all your employees



Scrupulously apply business processes.

Implement processes and tools to foster a culture of continuous improvement within your sector

Ensure that conditions are in place for constant communication with employees (floor rounds, logbooks, etc.)

Actively participate in the creation and implementation of optimization and investment projects

Help to make your business unit’s strategic plan

Ensure healthy working relationships and provide active listening to employees

Experiences and strengths

Extensive supervisory experience in the paper and pulp industry

Leadership and a collaborative spirit that inspire and engage teams to achieve excellence

Ability to deal with change and to propose favourable adaptation conditions

Ability to guide and coach team members

Sound judgment to ensure follow-up and effective implementation of solutions in accordance with company priorities and to make appropriate decisions

Ability to carry out a number of projects simultaneously while respecting deadlines and priorities

Ability to manage ambiguous and complex situations

Strong communication skills, tact and diplomacy

Excellent ability to build and support a customer-focused culture based on a people-centred approach

Agility needed to work with various technological tools

Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP (an asset)
