The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides active leadership of safety

  • Help Develop housekeeping standards according to the OneCert Standard
  • OneCert work instructions and procedures developed and team members trained
  • Monitor work schedule and ensure work within timeframe
  • Inventory Control (Raw material, process material, and finish material)
  • Ensure compliance to all company procedures for various job functions
  • Organize all work and ensure compliance to all safety regulations and perform appropriate duties for same.
  • Train and provide guidance to all team members and resolve all product grade change issues
  • Help develop various procedures for effective implementation of all processing activities.
  • Maintain and review operations workflow and practices
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues though-out the Paper Mill
  • Help revise operational procedures and develop and implement related training
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Provides support for urgent issue as needed
  • Ensures Safe Work Practices compliance
  • Audit all checklist, inspection list, centerlines, and all procedures.
  • Ensure all spec sheets and labels are being used properly for each grade
  • Train team members (cross train)
  • Provide work request
  • Qualified to run the paper machine
  • Qualify to run the Deink Plant
  • Communicate all process and safety items with other team leaders and team members
  • All daily shift reports are accurate and completed.
  • Customers receives Parent rolls that meet the quality standards that is requested for production.
  • Positive relationships with all customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Location of all inventory product in Paper Manufacturing Plant is known and at acceptable production run levels
  • Paper Mill is tidy and orderly (everything is in its place)
  • Paper Machine is reliable; downtime is minimized to sixty minutes or less a shift
  • 70% OEE or better with 87 tons per day produced from the paper machine at 93% or better Quality.
  • 80% of team members are trained and qualified
